Meteorologists in Louisville, Kentucky, predict a sharp contrast in weather conditions between Monday and Tuesday. Light scattered showers are expected to continue overnight, with additional rainfall totaling well under a quarter inch in all areas.

Low temperatures will hover in the mild 50s as Monday morning arrives. The scattered showers will affect the morning commute but a gradual drying trend is forecast for the afternoon. Cloud cover will remain for most of Monday, with highs reaching the 60s.

Conditions will improve significantly for the evening. Clouds are expected to break up Monday night, though southeasterly winds and increasing humidity will keep lows in the 50s and near 60 degrees in some regions.

Tuesday, designated as Election Day, will feature ideal outdoor weather. The area will sit between high pressure to the east and a cold front to the west. This positioning will produce dry and warm conditions with highs in the 70s. However, the day will be breezy, with gusts reaching 25 miles per hour.

The calm weather will end early Wednesday. A surging cold front will bring widespread rain and some thunderstorms. Over an inch of rain is possible in select parts of Kentucky. Following this frontal passage, the week will conclude with quieter weather and seasonable highs in the 60s.
