Mild Start To November With Rain

The first day of November brought unsettled weather to the North Escambia area, with showers and possible thunderstorms expected before partly sunny skies return early in the week.

Rain and storm chances are scheduled to return by Tuesday night into Wednesday. This pattern will be followed by clearing conditions and much cooler, crisp nights heading into the following weekend.

Sunday brought a 60 percent chance of precipitation, with showers likely and a possible thunderstorm before 4 p.m. The temperature reached a high near 75 degrees Fahrenheit. East winds blew at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New rainfall amounts were expected to fall between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch, except for higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night held a 30 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m., with a low around 64 degrees. Monday offered partly sunny skies and a high near 78 degrees. East winds continued at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Monday night remained partly cloudy with a low around 64 degrees and lighter east winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday featured partly sunny conditions with a high near 79 degrees. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms was forecast for Tuesday night, mainly after 1 a.m. The low temperature was expected to be around 65 degrees. Winds shifted to the southeast at around 5 mph.

Wednesday presented a 70 percent chance of precipitation, with showers likely and a possible thunderstorm. The high remained near 78 degrees with south winds of 5 to 10 mph. Wednesday night saw a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., followed by a slight chance of showers. The low dropped to 61 degrees. Winds became calm in the evening.

Thursday brought a 20 percent chance of showers and mostly sunny skies with a high near 77 degrees. The week concluded with clear conditions and falling temperatures. Thursday night was mostly clear with a low of 55 degrees. Friday was mostly sunny with a high of 77 degrees and a low of 52 degrees. Saturday was sunny with a high near 75 degrees.
