A JSX aircraft veered into the grass after landing at Dallas Love Field on Sunday afternoon, though officials reported that no passengers were hurt. The incident involved Flight XE281, which had departed from Houston Hobby Airport earlier in the day.
Dallas Fire-Rescue units arrived at the airport around 2:52 p.m. on Nov. 1 to respond to an airport emergency alert. First responders found that the small plane had rolled off the paved surface but that the landing gear remained intact. The company confirmed that all customers were safe and had already left the facility.
Runway 13L was closed immediately following the event, and the airport advised travelers to contact their airlines for the most current status. Later updates indicated that aircraft rescue and firefighting crews had cleared the scene and escorted all passengers off the plane.
Aviation officials began inspecting the aircraft while awaiting approval from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to remove it from the area. During the inspection period, the airport continued to use Runway 13R for arrivals and departures.
The incident is under investigation, and JSX stated that it is cooperating with the relevant authorities. The airport initially provided the information regarding the runway closures and the status of the emergency response.
The flight operated between two major hubs in the Texas region, a corridor that sees frequent traffic. The NTSB and FAA will review the circumstances that led to the aircraft leaving the runway surface.
